Get Refund Status
When will you receive your refund? The answer depends on how you filed your return. The IRS should issue your refund check within six to eight weeks of filing a paper return. If you chose to receive your refund through direct deposit, you should receive it within a week. If you use e-file, your refund should be issued between two and three weeks.

How to track your State refund status
The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) oversees your federal tax refund. However, your state's own tax authority, usually the state's Department of Revenue or Department of Taxation, handles the processing and payment of your state tax refund.
The length of time you will have to wait to receive your refund after filing your state income tax varies from weeks to months. Thankfully, most states have online tools to help you track the status of your refund while you wait.
For most states, you will need the dollar amount of your expected refund in order to check its status.
